Forty years of feeding people with intention — from our kitchen in Montana to yours.

We are Michele and Ken. And if you've found your way here, we don't think that's an accident.

For more than forty years, we've built our life around one simple conviction: that the table is holy ground. Not the fancy kind — though we do love a beautiful tablescape. The kind where people exhale. Where conversations go deeper than they planned. Where someone feels, maybe for the first time in a long time, genuinely cared for.

That's what we're really cooking.

MK's Table — Where It All Began

MK stands for Michele and Ken. But it also stands for something bigger than the two of us.

Michele has been cooking and hosting with this kind of intention for more than twenty years — not just making food, but designing experiences. Every menu planned with care. Every detail considered. Every guest thought of before they arrive. Ken is her partner in every sense: in life, in faith, and in the kitchen. You'll find his hands in the work too.

Over the decades we've fed neighbors after hard weeks, strangers who showed up at the door, dear friends marking sacred moments, and everyone in between. Scripture reminds us that some who have shown hospitality to strangers have "entertained angels unawares." We've always taken that seriously — and joyfully. (Hebrews 13:2)

Why We Do This

We started Elegant Meals Made Simple because we kept seeing the same thing: people who wanted to cook beautifully, host confidently, and nourish the people they loved — but didn't know where to start, or felt too overwhelmed to try.

The planning paralysis. The 5pm spiral. The dinner party anxiety. The guests with dietary restrictions and no idea what to serve them.

We know how to solve all of it. So we built a place where we could hand you everything — the menus, the grocery lists, the prep timelines, the chef techniques — so you can walk into your kitchen and your dining room with confidence.

Elegant meals, made genuinely simple. That's the promise.

Montana & the Vision Behind It All

In 2020, the Lord brought us to Montana — and suddenly everything made sense.

There's a breathtaking quality to this land. Mountains that seem to hold the sky up. A glistening river. Wide open peace. It's exactly the kind of place where something deeper can take root.

Long before we arrived here, a vision had been stirring — since 2007 — for a retreat where people could come and truly rest. A place of healing, connection, and closeness to the Lord. Somewhere the noise of life quiets and something deeper gets tended to.

We call it First Fruits — an offering of the best of what we have, given freely. The retreat isn't built yet. We're trusting the Lord to fund it in His timing.

In the meantime, every meal we share, every recipe we offer, every table we set through Elegant Meals Made Simple is part of that larger story. A way of being faithful with what we have while we wait on what's coming.
