Why Would You Pay for Recipes When the Internet Has Millions for Free?
It's a fair question. Let's talk about it honestly.
Elegant Table
I want to start by saying something that might surprise you coming from someone who sells recipes: you're right. The internet is absolutely overflowing with free recipes. Millions of them. Gorgeous photos, step-by-step instructions, five-star reviews — all completely free, right at your fingertips.
So why would anyone pay for mine?
I've thought a lot about this, because I think it's one of those questions worth answering truthfully rather than with a sales pitch. And the honest answer is: most people shouldn't.
Stay with me here.
Free recipes are wonderful — for the right situation
If you want to make chocolate chip cookies on a Tuesday night, a free recipe is perfect. If you're curious how to poach an egg or you need a quick weeknight pasta, go ahead and Google it. Seriously. That's exactly what free recipes are made for.
But here's where I see people run into trouble — and I hear this all the time from home cooks and those who love to entertain:
You find a beautiful recipe. You make it. And then you're left standing in your kitchen wondering what else to serve with it, whether you can prep any of it ahead of time, what to buy at the store without ending up with a cart full of random ingredients that don't quite go together — and whether you'll feel like a frantic mess the night of a dinner party instead of an actual host.
That's the gap. And that's what I set out to fill.
What I actually sell — and it's not just recipes
When someone buys one of my digital cookbooks or monthly menu plans, they're not just getting a list of ingredients and instructions. They're getting a complete, thought-through experience.
Here's what that looks like:
A curated menu that works together as a whole meal. Not three random dishes I like — a menu where the flavors compliment each other, the textures balance, and the whole table feels cohesive. That takes real thought, and I do that thinking about and for you.
A ready-to-shop grocery list. No hunting through four separate recipes to figure out how much butter you need total. It's already done.
A prep-ahead timeline. This one changes everything for people who entertain. Knowing that you can make the soup two days ahead, the dessert the night before, and the only thing you're doing day-of is roasting the vegetables — that's the difference between a relaxed host and an exhausted one.
Chef techniques that actually explain the why. Not just "sear the chicken" but why you pat it dry first, why the pan needs to be hot, and what it should look like when it's ready to flip. These are the little things that make the food taste like you really know what you're doing — because eventually, you will.
What you end up with isn't just a dish
This might sound a little dramatic, but I mean it sincerely: the goal isn't the food. The goal is how you feel at the end of the evening.
I want you to look across a beautiful table you set, eat food you made yourself, watch your guests enjoy every bite, and feel genuinely proud. Relaxed. Confident. Like someone who does this well — because you do.
That's what a free recipe, on its own, can rarely give you. Not because the recipe is bad, but because a recipe was never designed to carry all of that. Mine are.
This isn't for everyone — and that's okay
If free recipes are working perfectly for you, that's genuinely wonderful. Please keep using them. I'm not here to convince you that you need something you don't need.
But if you've ever:
Felt overwhelmed trying to pull a whole meal together from scratch
Wished that entertaining felt more effortless and less exhausting
Wanted your meals to feel a little more special without spending hours planning
Stood in the kitchen the night of a dinner party thinking I should have prepped more
...then you're exactly who I made this for.
